Chill in the air

With the first day of winter on the calendar tomorrow, and snow just over the ranges, it's cold ...as is to be expected. I don't mind.  One of the things I've done today is follow the sun along the verandah, starting with it on my back and then shifting seats as it travelled north and I finished off some soft toys. These little guys have been sitting around for a while, waiting for their eyes, noses, smiles, and in a couple of cases, their ears.!  What??

Hmm, says Fox, am I surrounded by dinner?

All set now, to head off next week to a charity, ready to cheer up some children.

Hope where-ever you are, you're cosy if winter's upon you.........

    1. Thanks for visiting Selina, I really enjoy making these little softies, and giving them a bit of character.

  2. Well Nanette, how cute are those soft toys. They look great. It certainly is cold at the moment with records tumbling here in SE Qld today. I think it was -6 or 7 at Stanthorpe while it was a mild 2C here. Cold enough for me. Wearing lots of layers is the order of the day. Stay warm.

    1. The toys are fun to make, and will bring some cheer to some sick or displaced children. Not as cold as you here, and at the moment, it's only really in the house it's cold. Glad you got your air con reverse cycling, you'll be needing it.

  4. Thanks Nil. It's lovely outside, I've been gardening in tshirt and three quarter pants, just cold indoors. I'm lucky to have my big sun trap of a verandah for when it's too chilly to be in the garden. I can imagine how hot and humid it would be for you, hope you're enjoying being home.

  6. They're gorgeous, I'm so glad you've finished them! I hope you're cosy and the sun was still warming your back today. It's taken a turn for the cooler in the last few days, and I've actually dug out the flannel PJs. We're off up north at the end of the week for a holiday, so I hope the sun will come with us, as 10 days of rain in the caravan will be a bit sad... Still, it'd give me lots of time to crack on with hand sewing!

    1. It was a nice gentle way to spend the day, and good to see the liitle critters complete. Glad you like them. Sounds like my cold front's moved up your way, quite balmy here today. Fingers crossed for dry sunny weather for your holiday.
