Winter sun

Winter in the sub-tropics....sublime

This pretty but chilly for here 6 C (42 F) sunrise in gold and grey........

....... became deliciously warm golden light bathing my dining area, perfect spot for that first cuppa

This picture is for Lyn,  to show the creative and amazing tree decoration she sent as a housewarming gift, hanging there for all to see as they come in the house......and greatly admired it is, too.

That's all for today, the garden is calling, so until next time..........

    1. Thanks Nils, it's a great spot, I love to sit there by the windows and sew. I love the chairs too, and painted them when I was selling my other house, I was so sick of painting everything neutral....read boring....so I decided one day to splash some colour on the chairs. And I liked them so much I just left them.

  3. How lovely to see your house looking so much more finished than the last time we saw it. Everything is bright and fresh, and the morning sun really makes it look welcoming. Just beautiful :-)

    1. Yes, a surprise for you, it's been 18 months since you were here, so yes, a lot done. You had to 'walk the plank'then to get in, the floor in that room was an obstacle course....rotten boards and full of tacks from pulling up the old linos. it's my favourite spot now.

  4. That beautiful room is just how I've imagined your home might be, it has light and atmosphere and character and looks welcoming and cosy.

    1. Thanks Lyn, this room.....which was just an enclosed verandah and a big "nothing" space when I moved in...is my favourite. And those windows look out onto the street, so I can be a busybody and watch the world go by. Life after flood...slowly coming together!

  5. Did you paint the chairs yourself. I love this space you have created, very inviting.

    1. Yes I did. They were just some sample pots I had, and I was so fed up with everything having to be neutral and sparse while my other house was on the market, I decided to splash some colour around. Thanks, I love this space too, it's right off the kitchen, and visitors like to gather here, rather than in the lounge, and I can chat to them while I make tea or prepare food.
